For this year’s Guinness World Record Day, daring and strange world records were broken.
At GWR DAY 2022, people from all parts of the world showcased their skills in a variety of exciting record attempts.
On November 10, records were broken in Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, China and Mexico, with skateboards, somersaults and Rubik’s dice, of course. They are all amazing accomplishments and are listed in no particular order of importance or difficulty!
Most Rubik’s Cubes were solved on a skateboard
George Scholey is a bit of a magician.
The British skateboard and puzzle solving professional has broken the world record for the most Rubik’s Cubes solved on a skateboard in London, UK.
Part-time student, part-time Rubik’s Cube Master, managed to solve 500 dice, surpassing the previous record of 300.
And you know what? Scholey did it in less than an hour — 40 minutes, to be exact.
Most blindfolded backwards somersaults in one minute
Have you ever tried to do a somersault? Cnnbreakingnews.net Culture jumps through the tires regularly, but we wouldn’t recommend it.
To do one, you have to get up straight, jump in the air, throw yourself backwards and then land on your feet.
Well, Dinesh Sunar from Nepal isn’t just a champion in somersaults. He can do them while blindfolded.
In Florida, he broke the world record for most backwards somersaults in one minute while blindfolded and led 21 in less than a minute.
Sunar is a gymnast, stuntman, and parkour instructor who holds several other records, like most backflips from a wall in 30 seconds — definitely don’t try that out.
His journey to Guinness World Record fame wasn’t easy. Growing up in a remote village with no transportation, infrastructure or facilities, Sunar is completely self-taught and uses the sandbar of a local river to practice.
“When I was 7 years old, wealthy residents and upper-caste residents began to get electricity and television in the village,” he said.
“They told us not to enter their house, so I watched from outside to watch TV.”
Dinesh peered through the window and spotted actors like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chain who inspired him to try his own stunts.
Most keepie puppies hang with one hand
Football requires enough skill.
How about trying while you’re floating in mid-air? Or better yet on a speeding quad bike?
Ammar Ahmed Alkhudhiri broke two breathtaking freestyle soccer records at the Dubai Police Academy in Dubai, UAE.
The first was for the most soccer touches in a row while he was hanging with one hand in 30 seconds, with an incredible total of 87.
Second were most of the keepie uppies in a row on a quad bike who performed a wheelie (even though someone else was riding). Together with Abdulla Saeed Alhattawi, Alkhudhiri managed 87 soccer games.
That only remains to be seen.
Most rear bike bunnies hop on a bar in one minute
Over in China, another record was broken, this time on two wheels.
With 14 in Qingdao, Shandong, China, Zhang Jingkun scored the most rabbit jumps on the rear wheel of a bicycle in one minute.
Jingkun is a famous climbing and mountain biking enthusiast in China who discovered his passion for cycling at the age of nine.
The most handstands in one minute from one man and more
Circus Maverick Nicolás Montes de Oca from Mexico celebrated Guinness World Record Day in style.
He broke three new records and brought his total number of record-breaking successes to five.
These were the most one-armed handstands in one minute, most men’s handstands in one minute, and the most alternating one-armed handstands in one minute — phew.
The professional juggler and handstand expert broke his first two Guinness World Record titles back in March 2022.
He achieved the longest one-armed handstand in the world and held the pose for 1 minute 11.82 seconds, together with the longest handstand on a rotating platform at 25.78 seconds.
Both belonged to the men’s category, with women having separate records.
